It's time to put new shoes on the MS3. I've been recommended a few different styles/brands, and the Continental ExtremeContact DWSs seem to fit the bill for cost and rave reviews (including a buddy who's gone through 2 sets of the DWSs on his Pontiac G8).
What about 'em, Oppo? Is there a better choice for sport all season tires that wont wear thin in less than 40k miles or break the bank?

Why go all seasons?

I live in an area that sees enough snow to occasionally be worried, but not nearly enough to justify buying a set of winter tires.
Unless I'm thinking about that wrong, then I'm wide open to why summer only would be ok in Northern Virginia!

Continentals are for breakfast and Lincolns. You need Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires.

Got a set on my Jetta and they've been great. It's not exactly a tire-shredder, but I've got close to 50k miles on them and there still a decent amount of tread left.

I run kumho 4x on my ms3. I like the grip and the cost. I've never run continentals but I have never heard anything bad about them.

I really liked the DWS on my GTI, but I had a stupid. I rotated them twice in close succession, then forgot to rotate the next year. Now 2 of them are 'chopped' and noisy AF. Rotate regularly!

Ah, I just figured you'd get more milage out of a set of winters and summers.

That was my gigantic stupid with the MS3 so far - I've never rotated the tires. Ever. So 27k miles in, they're choppy as all hell and it wont pass inspection...
It's the first car I've ever personally owned and was responsible for. Lesson. Learned.

Had them on my Mazda 3 hatch for several years, and now use them as my winter set on my M3 (in Tulsa - PSS for the rest of the year). Good tires.

great tires. Lots of grip. I wrote a small review of them on oppo a while back actually.

I have the DW version of this on my GTI and they're awesome. There's no way I'd try to drive in the snow with them though.

The review was actually super encouraging - glad I found it.

Nova resident here, got the same set on my GTI and love them. Only ten thousand miles or so on them so far but they've been great in dry, wet, and last year's shitty winter. I have the same debate every time about all season with dedicated autocross tires, or summer and winter tires, and all season works so far.

Glad to help! Now that I have more miles on them I should probably write another review. Still great, haven't noticed any wear yet and the grip has gotten even better. Driving in the heavy rain in a RWD car is much easier now.

Thats what I put on ym car! The A/S 3s are awesome. Also can't beat the warranty Michelin puts on their tires for free.

I vote you check out Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3's. They are pretty awesome and still have a good wear rating.

I run Potenza RE760 Sports on my standard 2013 3. Of course, mine is also lowered, has a CS rear bar and a disconnected front.
To find the grip limits takes scary amounts of stupid speed on a twisty road, not that I'd know or anything....

I went through a set on my WRX and honestly I was impressed. I never thought I would say such a thing for an all-season tire. They shine the most in the wet, IMHO.
